Weddings with Life’s Kitchen - Louise and Phillip’s Winter Reception

Emily Lord, our Wedding Coordinator shares her story about her role in the planning of Louise and Phillip’s wedding reception.

Last year I had the absolute pleasure of helping to organise the wedding reception of Louise & Phillip, with the day itself taking place in January of this year at Pewterers' Hall. This was a couple who were particularly close to my heart as Louise is the daughter of the Clerk to the Pewterers' Company, so I know the family well, which made it all the more special to coordinate. Louise said of the planning process that we were

Experienced, professional and efficient which took much of the stress out of the planning and left us free to focus on planning the other elements of the day

Right from the first meeting, Louise knew exactly what she wanted, but was also more than happy to take guidance from us from how the day would run best, to the delicious menu selection. Louise wanted the wow factor when it came to the wedding breakfast; She wanted guests to remember what they ate, which they certainly did! From the Carpaccio of Tuna starter, the Black Garlic Infused Venison Loin main course, and the Chocolate & Raspberry mousse dessert.

The day itself was great fun and 'ran without a hitch'. I love the difference between the weekly corporate events and weddings, as the guests are all there to enjoy themselves and celebrate the happy couple. All of the planning was done, so I was able to just be on hand for the Bride & Groom should they need anything, and at some weddings, to coordinate the rather nervous Best Man in his duties!

The evening finished with a traditional Scottish Ceilidh, with the majority of the Court Room floor taken up by a huge dance floor, which got all of the guests up on their feet and dancing the night away.
