Weddings with Life's Kitchen - Liz and Andy's Guildhall Reception

Emily Lord, our Wedding Coordinator has had a busy few months and shares with us the highlights of one of the Spring City weddings we were fortunate to be involved in.

Liz and Andy Guildhall Reception

“If you’re going to be a wedding planner, there’s nowhere better to do it than in London in my opinion, and there’s no better wedding to illustrate this than that of the wonderful Liz and Andy, at the Guildhall on Saturday 19th March 2016.

From our first meeting I knew they would be great fun to work with. We tucked ourselves away in a City coffee shop and bonded over our shared love of all things canine!

Liz and Andy said ‘we chose Life's Kitchen as Emily was the only person from all the suppliers we approached who actually met with us and went through the requirements for our wedding prior to giving us a quote. Once we chose them, Emily did a fantastic job of meeting us on a regular basis and advising the things we should considering. Having done this many times before, she gave us some great ideas and suggestions for the running of the day. Emily made the whole process seamless’.

Liz’s vision of the table decorations was right on trend – a real rustic feel with hessian table runners, and bow-tied mason jars filled with mismatching flowers; she had even sent me over a mock up picture of her dining room table (with her dogs in the background, which I of course loved!), and this helped us ‘set up the rooms exactly as I had envisioned and with very little input from me on the day’. Twinkling fairy lights adorned the pillars, giving the 10th and 12th Century Crypts a magical feel, with candles slowly flickering away on the stained glass windowsills.

Guildhall Table Setting

The adrenaline of the Wedding Day itself always hits me as soon as I arrive at the venue to start setting up, and it was non-stop for the whole day, with lots of lovely details to put in place, such as a sweet table, a cheese wedding cake and a huge light up ‘LOVE’ sign. I didn’t even think about the fact that I’d worn my heels from start to finish until I took them off at the end of the evening.

I’m in love with the current trend (which Liz and Andy did beautifully) of having pictures of previous family weddings on display; a lot of them black and white, which gives such a sense of inclusion to the day, of loved ones who may or may not be there to celebrate with the bride and groom.

Another beautiful wedding done and dusted for us here at Life’s Kitchen. Many congratulations to the happy couple, and we look forward to the next one (maybe with flat shoes next time!).”
