Announcement of the Purchase of the Life’s Kitchen business  

Kirly Ltd have, through their subsidiary LK Catering and Events Ltd, acquired the Life’s Kitchen business and all associated assets and systems.

Life’s Kitchen has built a strong reputation in the City of London as first-class caterer, venue manager and commercial partner in the Livery Halls of the City of London, combining consistent provision of the highest quality product and customer service with bespoke sales and marketing strategies for their venue partners generating very strong client relationships and repeat custom. The business has been closed for several months and was put into voluntary liquidation by its shareholders in the Autumn of 2020.

Marcus Johnson, Deputy Chairman of Kirly Group Holdings Ltd, has been a director of Life’s Kitchen for several years. He said “I am delighted to get this deal across the line after several false starts and delays. I look forward to working with a number of existing Livery clients on their events. I have frequently been told we provide the best dinners in the entire City and I believe we will continue to do this in the future. I was absolutely sure this business was worth saving and am delighted that the Kirly board agreed with me.”

Co-founder of Life’s Kitchen, Nick Levens will remain as Managing Director. He noted “Many of the fantastic LK staff will return when we recommence full operations. We have continued to service all our Livery Halls throughout the crisis and are seeing bookings increase every week that goes by. Our top-quality service means we have a large number of returning clients who choose to use us to arrange venues and events. Our diary for October and November is already filling up. Sarah Rizzetti (née Levy) continues as Sales Manager. She and her staff are providing continuity to our clients and our venues. They are fielding enquiries and accepting bookings almost every day now. We currently expect to reopen our doors on Monday 21st June 2021, subject to any restrictions the Government may impose. All our halls and all those where we place events operate within our accredited Covid secure regimen.”

The team are working full out dealing with events to be held when the City resumes trading. Everyone is looking forward to a full return to delivering the events we love, especially those associated with the venues solely looked after by Life’s Kitchen – Furniture Makers’ Hall, Pewterers’ Hall and Tallow Chandlers’ Hall. The sales team are also working on arranging dinners, weddings, and conferences in many other locations. There is still some availability for Christmas, but many of the most popular days have already been booked. Anyone who is hoping to have an event in the second half of 2021 should not hang around.
