Event of the Month The Annual Luncheon - Life's Kitchen
At Life’s Kitchen each event is different, that said we have a solid base of repeat clients who have annual events with us that come around each year and seemingly even quicker than the last (I am sure you know the feeling). November 2017 was no different…the team at LK enjoyed a day at Stationers Hall looking after the Printing Charity and their Annual luncheon.
A few words from the Charity….
We are proud of our heritage and have been supporting people working in the printing industry since 1827. The industry has grown beyond recognition since then with advances in graphics, print and media few could have imagined. Today the UK is the world’s fifth largest producer of printed products, with an estimated 8,600 companies delivering £13.5 billion of turnover and employing over 122,000 people. And yet, despite these advances, our charitable aims of promoting independence, protecting dignity and furthering education are as important today as they have always been.
To meet the needs of those we support and the sector we represent we have a dual focus: to provide financial and practical assistance to people working in the sector, and to encourage the future talent necessary to secure its future. We do this through our ‘Welfare & Wellbeing’ and ‘Education & Partnerships’ programmes.
The annual luncheon is a must attend event in the charity’s calendar and is held at Stationers Hall each year.
This year was no exception with over 180 guests feasting on Duo of Salmon -Fennel & Orange Marinated & Salmon Poached Salmon, Caper & Cornichon Timbale to start, followed by Glazed Pork Belly, Roasted Root Vegetables & Grain Mustard Jus. The vegetarians in the room were not forgotten either and enjoyed a starter of Spiced Bean Beignet with a Ratatouille Sauce, for main course the guests indulged in a Wild Mushroom and Pumpkin Pudding with Butternut Squash Puree & Crispy Kale. The event then ended with the delectable Pistachio & Cherry Bakewell, Pistachio Ice Cream & Toasted Almonds, Coffee and Petit Fours.
Guests were also treated to Moutard Blanc de Blanc during the reception, Picpoul de Pinet 'Languedoc'' Sel et de Sable with their starter and Cotes du Rhone Vielles Vignes Les Coteux du Rhone with the main course.
