Diwali At Stationers’ Hall and Painters’ Hall
With Diwali 2016 beginning on Sunday 30th October, what better time to reminisce about the fabulous Diwali themed events we organised two years in a row at Stationers’ Hall and Painters’ Hall.
Our client wanted to organise an event to entertain clients in late October/early November, and wanting a theme with the Wow! factor, we settled on Diwali – the festival of lights.
Livery Halls are extremely diverse; they have their own character and charm, but with the right touch they can be transformed into what feels like a completely different venue. Building on and complimenting the beautiful, original features of the venue is key, so careful consideration of colour schemes and the ‘look’ that the client wants to achieve is key.
Emily from the Sales Team who organised both events said, ‘I loved that when my client walked into the Livery Hall on the evening of the event and saw it all set up and ready for action, her only word as she took it all in was ‘wow!’. It can be difficult for client’s to envision the complete transformation of a space, so to have a speechless client was a great moment.

Guests were treated to mouth-watering canapes on arrival, which included Mustard & Poppy Seed Spiced Swordfish and Goan Lamb & Tamarind Samosas with Aubergine Chutney. Food stations were then opened, with dishes including Lamb Asado, Malabar Fish Curry and Saag Aloo.

Guests were kept entertained during the evening by Sitar and Tabla players, a henna artist, and could try on sari’s and sherwani’s to wear throughout the evening. To end the evening with a bang, guests were treated to a show stopping, high energy bhangra dancing performance, with everyone joining in.
The feedback has been terrific, so many people have been raving about the evening and cannot wait until the next one!
