Life’s Kitchen Managing Director completes 2008 Flora London Marathon for Make-a-Wish

After five months of training, planning and abstinence, the big day finally arrived and on Sunday 13th April 2008 Nick Levens completed the London Marathon in a time of 5h40, raising over £2,500 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the adopted charity of Life’s Kitchen Ltd for 2008.

Commenting on the day itself, Nick said “The pre-race atmosphere was genuinely exciting and the first half of the Marathon was actually really good fun. Then the heavens opened, the temperature dropped and it became much more like hard work......! By twenty miles I was really struggling however I knew I had a huge band of supporters waiting for me just after mile 23 as Watermen’s Hall had generously opened their doors for the day in support of my efforts, so I just concentrated on getting that far.

"My two abiding memories are running past my family and friends at mile 23, and rounding the final corner on the Mall. Although my time was pretty slow, the overall experience is one I will always remember and I am delighted to have completed the Marathon and raised a great amount of money for the Make-a-Wish foundation.”

Life's Kitchen selected at The Guildhall
